And somebody on here pointed the finger at Native Americans. Ethnically, they fall into the "other" category, which only comprises 3.3% of the nation's welfare recipients.
Native Americans are only 1.2% of the population sadly.

Sure, but the topic at hand includes things like social security disability. The link you posted doesn't.
That's a huge source of government payouts, much of it obtained fraudulently, and the worst of it is in counties that are, for all practical purposes, entirely composed of white people.

The cities in the red states are liberal. The counties in the darker shade for example the southern Appalachia of WV, KY, TN, VA are rural, poor, and majority white. I guess you can say the only poor rural area of minorities on welfare are located in the Mississippi delta.
The map does not come close to supporting the meme that the OP is expressing.
Look at this exit polling data from 2012: Obama won by 63% among those with incomes under $30,000. Obama won by 57% among those with incomes $30K-$50K (which is still under the US median). Romney won by 53 and 54% among those over $50K and $100K, respectively. President Exit Polls - Election 2012 - NYTimes.com
If the ridiculous meme of red states full of white hillbilly Republicans living in shacks, collecting welfare, and voting for Romney were true, we wouldn't have exit polling numbers like the above. You have to be gullible to fall for this meme, and we have a lot of gullible posters on this thread.
Interesting map. It is the percent of income by county that comes from gov't, things like SS disability, welfare, food stamps, etc.
I thought Red State people believed in getting the gov't off their backs and making it by their own hard work... so why is 25% to HALF of total income in most Red States coming from non work??
Shockingly, that is actually an under representation of tax/wealth transfers to the South. The South also has a lot of military bases and a lot of Defense contractors with factories in that region and these aren't represented in that picture. There is a reason why a lot of Southerners are so pro military and that is because the military and its associated industries are big employers down there.
Also does anyone not noticed the irony of defense contractors being extremely conservative? They are generally against high taxes and government spending yet they live off of the government.

I interpret your entire post to be racist bigotry and if it isn't what is your point?
If you conduct a side by side comparison of racial make up, this might surprise you but New Mexico isn't exactly a lilly white state, to include American Indians it appears to me those maps closely follow the personal income map you posted.
Another surpirse you got coming is Oklahoma isn't made up of all lilly white red staters especially in the western part of the state.
Other than to demonstrate heavier black and native American populations have more poverty what exactly is the point you are attempting to make???
