The protestors also apparently have a group case of mental illness, as evidenced by the crowd that recently marched through New York chanting “What do we want? / dead cops / when do we want them? / now.”
The killer's motivation was not mental illness. That's a simplistic and obvious red herring. The stated motivation, publicly shared by many, was revenge for Brown and Garner. Furthermore, his actions have been widely endorsed by protestors and sympathizers across the country. Stop with the mental illness nonsense. Anyone who claims it was mental illness is posturing for political purposes. Everyone knows he killed those cops for revenge, as he directly stated, and they and the media are directly culpable for the murders of two cops.
Those cops were just doing their jobs quietly. They are NEVER coming back. Think about that. Their right-to-life was forever stolen. The motive was revenge for the deaths of two individuals who both played a significant part in their own deaths, right or wrong. This is truly a matter of good vs evil.

He then didn't want to face the consequences so he ended his own life, like many of these cowards do. You don't post about it on social media as clearly as he did if you spontaneously acted out. he drove to NY from 3 states south with clear intent to murder two innocent officers, who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

He had also tried to hang himself a year ago, the police said.
I hope most people here reading this realize that there is a world of difference between seeing a psychiatrist and spending time in a psychiatric hospital.
A lot of crazy people refuse help, refuse to take medication.
If crazy people...who are not judged to be a danger to themselves or others, cannot be forced to take meds and get counseling, nothing will change. Untreated crazy people are going to occasionally
act-out in a violent manner.
Indeed but we should try and see if there isn't a better way to go about this than we currently are. Maybe there is nothing that can be done but until we decide to try we will never know.

Very few mentally ill end up in a hospital. Maybe we need to reconsider that.
The "top police official" is repeating what the family of Brinsley is now claiming. There is absolutely nothing that substantiates any of that. We do know he was a Thug - arrested over 20 times, some of them felony burglary and firearms charges and spent time in jail. We can all have this conversation about his supposed mental illness when there is actually some sort of evidence of it, and not just a "family" story about a guy they passed around from person to person.

A Cop Killer that assassinates two Police Officers while they are eating lunch, is very different than a Mass Shooter that has a verifiable Mental History. Almost all of the Mass Shooters had been taking drugs for their conditions and were under a doctor's care. Brinsley himself wrote that he was after Revenge for Gardner and Brown - two more Thugs that resisted arrest and ending up dying for it.
This is why Brinsley murdered those Police Officers. All those 'peaceful protestors' with cute chants. They can celebrate their success. 2 Down.
