Just don't give it to them in an 'aggressive or dehumanizing' manner.

Cops don't make laws. Municipals/ counties pay officers to enforce the laws.

Why shoot the messenger? Don't like laws? Protest at your local townhall/ county meetings. Perhaps consider running for office on the platform of eliminating the laws and/ or consequences you don't like.

We delivered some to the local fire station as well and those guys were so appreciative.
They gave my daughters a tour of the firehouse, let them crawl around on the trucks, etc.
It was a great experience.

I'll be giving my brother, two uncles, two cousins and one niece a nice big hug this afternoon.
Hands up of course.

well I agree, that is why I said it is a lovely idea.

My personal experience with the local police department is a bit different. I adore U.S. military because of my personal experience. Whenever there is an event for military, I am there. For police officers? I will do what I can but my heart is not 100% there.

I have couple of police officers asking for discount at our store (in all fairness, they did not ASK directly, they hinted that they were police officers, and is it possible to give a discount.) I don't like it. That is why I said as a retailer, I feel I have done enough for the local police department. (through donations and all) I owe them a "thank you." But I don't owe them a "special" thank you.

I can only speak for myself anyway.

My kid's Catholic High School had a Blue Mass for all local law enforcement at the school's auditorium a few weeks ago. Has been a tradition dating back 50 years. Then served cookies and refreshments. Always a huge turn out.
