Those last 50 years, we can say that the number of democracy have grow up. More and more country adopt those political model. I ask myself about the futur evolution.
With the actual problem of terrorism and financial crisis. Do you think more and more country will adopt the democratic model or it will be the oposit?

There are no examples of a controlling government transforming itself into a non-controlling one.

All governments proceed toward tyranny until forcibly defeated or dissolved.

Gorbatchev voluntary put a end to URSS, and choose to follow a democratic modele. It wasn't perfect but it's a step in the right direction.

Democracy does not need to follow the American model. Most other democracies are different from ours in many distinct ways. No democracy will succeed without the will of it's citizens solidly behind it, and with the determination of it's citizens to make it succeed.

It is a form of government that simply does not suit all cultures and societies equally well, and never has been.

No, he did not.

The end of the USSR was not voluntary or a choice.

The end came because quite simply, they lost control of the actions of too many to maintain control.

They can fight and send tanks. They didn't made it. Some hard communist try to take the power, they fail.
Many leaders of soviet nation choose this because they can't make reform.
