At a recent press conference, President Bush was asked about the impact of $100/barrel oil on the average American. His answer was that he didn't figure it would have much impact on Americans because most of them bought their oil in those little cans anyway.

Filling a 250 gallon heating oil tank at $3.50 per gallon takes a $875 hit on the old family budget. This can curtail the family's Wal-mart habit a bit.
