Small volcanic eruptions over the past 20 years have been protecting the Earth from global warming, according to a new study.
Scientists have confirmed that droplets of sulphur-rich aerosols spewed into the upper atmosphere by volcanoes have been reflecting sunlight away from the Earth.
Until recently it was thought that only particularly large eruptions had any noticeable affect on the climate.

Congress is going to install flapper valves on the volcanos so they can control the eruptions to just the right amount.

But the climate cult says it's the hottest ever.

A very interesting article indeed. Here is another link:

Small Volcanic Eruptions Could Be Responsible For Slowing Global Warming: Study

Frank, I like the mental image you created by suggesting a huge toilet flapper valve on volcanoes.

The Earth hasn't been cooling.

The study suggests that volcanic activity has contributed to the slowing-- not stopping, not reversing-- of global warming.

So what happens when volcanic activity dies down?

And of course, since it's the dailymail, they're going to attempt to skew the issue and even feature an interview with Ross McKitrick, who is an economy professor and has nothing to do with climatology... and sure is good at stirring up confusion and doubt with worthless speculations like:

If volcanic eruptions are masking some of the impacts of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, then the climate may be more sensitive than previously thought, or changes in aerosols could be responsible for some of the temperature changes attributed to carbon dioxide.
He would fit in well on this board.

No matter what happens, they continue to recommend a carbon tax to fix it. It is a solution searching for a problem to glom on to.

And even if all the taxes that they want were to be passed, do not expect to see anything done that actually alters the climate of the Earth from what it would have otherwise been. That is not going to happen.

The lesson to be learned here is that scientists (you know, the ones who have known everything about how our climate works for a couple of decades now) keep finding out that there are lot's of different components that affect our climate.

This "settled science" seems to be based on a lot of assumptions.
