Do women vote based on emotion, charisma, and charm rather than character, integrity and honor?

Actually, I was wondering the same thing about men. I wondered if men vote for appearance, instead of substance, when it came to Sarah Palin.

Do women do that? No more than men do. The media however absolutely gives more, and more positive, air time to attractive, charismatic candidates than they will to someone who is unattractive, socially award but better qualified and that will lead to more votes for the unqualified snake oil salesman/woman.

Does it seem that way? Does it?

Let me ask you this: is that any better than people who will always vote for the party they think they're supposed to follow, regardless of circumstance? In short, Republicans who voted for Bush, who was the exact opposite of a fiscal conservative and did nothing to shrink the size of government, despite these values being used heavily to smear Obama?

And do men not also vote based on this? Obviously attractiveness is a lesser issue, since most candidates are men and most female politicians (not to be rude) aren't generally viewed as being overly attractive. But plenty of men who voted for Obama were probably drawn to his charisma.

Besides, if we all voted on the integrity of a candidate, we wouldn't have a single person to vote for, now would we...

Also, Washington was considered to be extremely attractive for his time.

No I think your assumption is intended to be insulting toward women and it is. That is the problem with Republicans......they really do have a women problem.....they think their mothers, sisters, wives are merely decorative and incapable of thought.

I don't think you can characterize how "women" vote....God knows there are the Sara Palin/Ann Coulter/and Michelle Bachman types who vote. However since the OP asks what do you think....I thnk the women's vote is thoughtful and is based on their belief in who would be best for them and their family, for the community and for the country. I think they are generally left of center..because they are concerned about environmental issues, don't want to see young men go to war, want good education for the children, want good and affordable health care; don't want to see the government get between them and their doctor when it comes to personal health issues, worry about the economy, income inequity --from minimum wage to tax reform. I think women are keenly aware of the issues of Fairness, and are sick and tired of the moral hypocrisy that characterizes much of Washington.

I think they admire strength and conviction and political courage.

That's what I think.

No, because the Republicrat Party that has turned Big Government into an all-powerful monster will NEVER allow Americans the opportunity to vote for someone who isn't a puppet of the corrupt ruling class (even though I'd bet that the citizenry wouldn't have the sense to vote for such a person, even if it could).

And do you really want to add the guy who single-handedly caused the death of 620,000 Americans and destroyed the very basis of our nation (State's rights) in order to create a Military Industrial empire ruled by centralized Big Government as one of your three choices for an admirable political leader? Try learning about Thomas Jefferson, who actually WAS worth admiring...

When push comes to shove, Americans do NOT value intelligence, experience, practicality, persistence over the long haul, strong character, resistance to corruption, respect for the nation and its people, a feeling of responsibility for all the nation's people, or any of the real aspects of a decent leader.
Instead, Americans value extremely TALL, stick-thin men, who are 100% convinced that they know everything there is to know (i.e., are Pathological Narcissists).

Presidential elections are nothing more than well-orchestrated popularity contests--rather than a mechanism for choosing an overall approach to ruling the nation (Socialism versus personal freedom & responsibility) or the policies supporting that approach. Of course that's exactly what the ruling political class wants: it can package a "likeable" candidate and a much less likeable one, without having any discussion of the direction the nation is heading.

This is how our ruling political class (comprised of both Democrats and their RINO counterparts) stays endlessly in power, even though close to 70% of Americans understand that America has been going in the WRONG direction for decades.

Some will without a doubt, but this is no different from some men. You will always have the ignorant that will vote on such things as this, and race, and gender. The majority of men and women will vote for the candidate that they think will be the best person to run this country.
