meh. i have never watched brokeback mountain all the way through b/c the first sex scene is so violent, but, in general, gay sex scenes don't bother me.
Im guessing you have never watched Scandal ... Or are you talking about Movies? In that case, can you prove they dont show interracial couples having sex ?
Movies are increasingly showing no sex to get by censor boards internationally and to get a PG-13 in the states. For the US TV audience gay and interracial sex is there to push the boundaries. Broadcast stations use it to compete with the simulated sex, bare behinds and dry humping on premium pay TV.
I just noticed there was some controversy over what Billy Crystal said about gay sex scenes and I couldn't help but notice that Hollywood refuses to do interracial sex scenes but loves to shove gay sex scenes on the audience. Does anyone find this a tad bit hypocritical? The rationale is that most Americans don't want to see interracial sex scenes yet somehow this doesn't seem to apply to gay sex scenes.
God only knows. Its long since I tried understanding their rationale.
At the end of the day, I think that Hollywood does what they think brings money in. Nothing deeper than that.

What chaps my a$$ is you can barely watch a show with out a gay character being introduced. Example, the Sons Of Anarchy a show about a powerful motor cycle gang that runs a town in Cali. The transvestite lasted a whopping 3 episodes and was written out. The whole show could have survived with out that character in the first place and you can tell the writers forced fed the gay character in.

I'd say if you're so offended that there are gay characters in tv shows or movies, you've got bigger problems than gay characters showing up in tv shows.
