Joni Ernst grew up as an "only child". Even if you are a full blown conservative you know that an "only child" did not grow up in poverty. It doesnt matter that she wore bread bags over her shoes or that her mother sewed her dresses. Ernst doesnt have a clue of what its like when a parent has to choose between buying prescription medicine, going to a doctor, or buying clothes and groceries. She is a typical "Tea Partier" completely out of touch with America.
You do realize that this happened after she was an adult, over, what was it 25 year time line...

That still makes an issue as she wants to get rid of subsidies her family used whether it was while she was growing up or after. That is just plain HEARTLESS. Would you want to get rid of a program that actually helped you or your family?
Never has it been so obvious that a politician was reading off of a teleprompter, her words being spoonfed to her from the higher ups.
Why would the GOP choose her to deliver their rebuttal? It was painful to watch.
