The proper thing to do would have been to at least SEND someone, either kerry or some other senior official. They sent NO ONE.

I dislike obama because his foreign policy, save Cuba, is an abject failure. I can think of some 10-15 allies he has pissed off just off the top of my head (Israel, France, Saudia Arabia, Jordan, Japan, South Korea, Poland, etc.) He's probably angered more allies than not.

Anyway, since when has Congress been responsible for foreign policy?
There are things called the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, etc.

It's the job of the White House to extend invitations to foreign leaders to visit, much less speak before Congress.
Not necessarily, and the House has invited foreign dignitaries many times before:

The last thing Netanyahu wants is a stable relationship with Iran, as it removes one of the major boogeyman that keeps his right-wing government in power.
You mean hamas and hezbollah are not threats to Israel? Really?

And frankly, we maintain friendly status with nations that are far more oppressive and dangerous than Iran. It's not Persian shias that are beheading Christians, selling women into slavery, and slaughtering fellow muslims.
You're utterly clueless. Iran is in defacto control over FOUR other countries right now, and its troops/terrorist proxies have been murdering sunnis in lebanon, syria and iraq for YEARS. Iran is the world's #1 state terrorist, and allowing them to increase their hegemony through nuclear weapons is lunacy.

Really? Israel "controls" the US? How do they magically accomplish this, if they've been unsuccessful for what 15 years trying to either convince the US, or to obtain permission from the US, to attack iran?

It must take special brain tissue to be able to hold two diametrically opposed thoughts in one's head at the same time - and be a True Believer in both.

It's called campaign donations not always perfect but certainly effective.

All that US aid and they don't even listen to us, certainly not when bombed Syria. They have been criticized by every president for over 40 years but this is the first time we had a congress nutty enough to invite their leader behind the presidents back.

I understand that Netanyahu is not far enough to the right, this should help his campaign but I have to wonder what Israel will look like with someone that makes Netanyahu look moderate.

And now Obama is threatening to punish Israel for daring to come without his specific summons. He truly does think that he rule the entire world.

Our policy towards Iran should have no Israeli component to it. We don't need Netanyahu's advice or any of his speeches or opinions. Israel is a sovereign nation...they have a right to formulate any policies they choose in regards to Iran...including tan attack if they so choose.

But we should have no hand in it or facilitate it in any way.

Our policy towards Iran is none of Netanyahu's business. He should not lecture members of our government in regards to any third party nation.
Apparently you failed history and political science. The people of Israel are our brothers. They are our biggest ally in the middleast and for a sitting president to turn on them is detestable. It's about time Congress stood up to this wanna be King.

The question is what Israeli insight is he going to provide that we haven't already heard from him a hundred times. Cameron an Obama are unified in their approach to Iran if you heard them both speak last week, having Netanyahu at the podium damages our standing in the ME and is completely senseless.

Israel is our friend but totally useless as an ally, they can do nothing without creating greater damage. They are a foreign country and first and US interests come first not Israel's

Israel has been claiming that Iran is on the verge of nuclear capability since the 1970's, 40 years and nothing. Making peace with Iran is the best route but congress wants a new round of sanctions, that would be a big setback to the peace efforts.
