For that reason, I would personally vote for JFK as greater.. simply because Kennedy's positions were ultimately less divisive, costly for the balance of all Americans/voters.
Lincoln being elected was more a result of the entire climate of the times and was not the cause of the war. He was legally elected and the Southern states were more afraid of what he might do - rather than what he did do. So I don't see how you can blame the war on Lincoln.

As for his politics being decisive, he did not believe anything that far outside of what his party believed.

Uh, wut?

Are you hallucinating again?

Cuba never ran to the Soviets for nuclear weapons.

Your telling me the bay of pigs didn't directly lead to the Cuban Missile Crisis? I'm calling bs on that.

That fight was brewing long before Lincoln got in office if you note various raids like John Brown and then the border wars between KS and MO.

Seeing several posters trying to pin it all on Lincoln and talking about being "divisive".

How exactly does one be "inclusive" over Slavery?

Also, they left the union before he even took office....

JFK couldn't have brushed the dust off of Honest Abe's stovepipe hat. Ridiculous to even mention him in the same breath. Lincoln was a giant.
