Then maybe you shouldn't have posted it in a public forum.

In Europe there is a state religion that is directly funded through taxes. If you want to play with taxpayer dollars, then you have to serve all of the taxpayers. Good thing we have that whole "separation of church and state" thing here. We also have this thing called a constitution, you might want to read the 1st amendment. I believe it has something to do with making laws about religion and such.
Don't preach to me about the Constitution. You guys ignore the Constitution when it suits you and read rights into it when it suits you.

Context my friend. It's happened in England - but only in 1 particular Church: The Church of England.

What's unique about The Church of England and different between the US and England? Answer: The Church of England is a government run, State Church.

I think the lesson there is that perhaps England should follow our lead and separate Church and State.
The thing is though with progressive judges and a living, breathing flexible constitution, no telling what will be argued and accepted in a few decades.

Funny thiing is, I will be right there with you and whoever else fighting to make sure that doesn't happen, even though I think you are dead wrong about gay marriage. Quite a lot of us, religious and otherwise, are very in favor of a wall of separation between church and state. That wall goes both ways, if it is strong enough to keep religious dogma from denying rights to americans, then it should be strong enough to prevent the state from dictating religious doctrine. Secularism is not intended for protection of us godless only. It is what protects your right to believe what you like, free of government interference. Us secularists are not the ones who are trying to remove what protects you from government control, you are! You are advocating destroying the very thing which protects your 1st amendment rights.

Have you noticed anyone trying to repeal or amend the first amendment? Because I sure haven't.

Judge Strikes Down Alabama's Gay Marriage Ban
It's great that Alabama has finally abandoned it's traditional belief that the definition of marriage is between one man and his sister!(compliments to Bill Maher)

You keep playing this progressive judges sruff. A bunch of the bans have been struck down by Republican appointed Judges. The case in Alabama was struck down by George W Bush appointee.

What progressive judges would those be? The conservative judges appointed by Bush or Reagan who have struck down gay marriage bans?
