In MANY parts of the Country it is part of life there.
You have no clue what a culture like that is if you think that. Hunting for your food =/= a hunter gather society. Hunter gathers don't grow crops, they don't use modern equipment, fabricate everything themselves, and they travel in very small groups. When you can list the groups in America that do that then place post them here for us to see :-P. And no, the guys on Mountain Men do not count.
Yeah sorry, that doesn't work. All of those things benefit a child in the long run. Saying the pledge does not. You need to come up with a better argument than that :-P.
"Saying the pledge does not" Strictly your OPINION which I disagree with.
Maybe some people don't respect this Country? And you can chuck out the inevitable "Why don't you go to *insert depostic Country here* if you don't like it here?" response you have cooking up, because I have heard it before.

Being you are such an expert in reading peoples minds and foretelling the future, what is the next Power Ball number?
YOU need to quit "ASSUMING" you KNOW what people will say. It makes you look foolish.

I believe this is charter school which means you have to apply for entrance.
It should be stated in your agreement to send your child there that you will support ALL the rules and practices of the school.
If you disagree with any of them then you are free to NOT to send your child there.
Again, this has been covered. Charter schools are still public schools, funded by tax dollars. You can be denied because of grades. You can be denied because of lack extracurricular activities. You can't be denied because of political views and you can't be forced to conform to theirs. If that is what you want, there are plenty of private schools that will accommodate you.
Of course your kid should be able to disavow the pledge and reject the very principles that give him the right to do so. That's what we have been fighting for all along. Hundreds of thousands of American patriots have died the World over protecting people like your kid who have no understanding of why we fight for them. You and your prodigy are quiet welcome.
People should abstain from exercising their rights in gratitude for having them? That makes no sense.

Teach the country's ideals, history and current actions, then the students will respect it all on their own. Or not. "Respect" instilled by rote repetition of a pledge enforced by fear of not conforming is the lowest kind there is.

What value is a forced pledge? Surely, one isn't bound to abide by any pledge not given out of free will.
