Of course there is. Many eminent domain cases in Nebraska. Taking an easement is as much taking as chopping of a piece of land.

I heard there is 4 feet of oil still lying on bottom of the Gulf of Mexico from the last oil spill. Yeah, sounds like another great deal for us..
"I heard" Why post rumors instead of looking up yourself and posting facts?

Do you have ANY idea how many miles of pipeline there are already in the U.S.?

When was the last time we experienced what you claim you are so worried about with those thousands of miles of existing pipe?

And is paid for the use of the land.

Pipeline easement is a pain. Big problem is that it requires that the property owner maintain access for the easement holder. Use of the easement is restricted.

Also devalues the adjacent property.

Yes I remember when Obama thought he had republicans by the tail, saying if you try to stop sequestration I will veto it. I also remember when Democrats asked companies not to release the layoff letters 60 days prior as per required by law. And when republicans didn't attempt to stop sequestration Obama went around the country crying, ranting to the people those bad republicans. It was political theater at its funniest. Obama got away with it because there are too many people who bought into Obama's propaganda and rhetoric.

Hey kidkaos... did the world come to an end yet lol

Well, at least now Osama will actually have to veto something and show Americans exactly what he is verses Reid protecting him by stopping hundreds of bills from going to his desk.

Moonbats made a previously bad situation much much worse and if they think conservatives won't use the same tactic's as they did..... Take the filibuster rules they changed that will come back to haunt them.

Oh yea, Reid changing the filibuster rules. Dems defended the change to no end. They say that Dems are incapable of thinking things through. It will be interesting to see the libs bounce off walls lol.

Now if only the IRS will do to Liberals exactly what they did to the tea party.

Get straight on how this now works. Obama has to veto bills only if they pick up enough Democrat support to get to 60 votes. That may happen once or twice but mostly the Democrats will simply filibuster bills they do not like. And then, if Obama does veto, You have to get 67 votes to pass over the veto in the Senate.

The modification to the filibuster rule dealt only with non Supreme Court appointments. And the Republicans will not change it for fear the Senate goes back to Democratic control in 2016.

So no you are not going to see much use of the veto by Obama.

Why so much hate for American and Canadian workers from the Dems? Is it simply a irrational, instinctive drive to destroy private industry and ensure dependency on the government? It seems like that's the case, but I have trouble believing any American is that evil. Even modern Democrats.
Keystone is a huge pig in a poke. There were never any long term American jobs in the project to begin with, and it's all Canadian- Canadian oil from Canadian fields going through a Canadian pipeline to a Canadian refinery in New Orleans, then pumped through a Canadian offshore station into Canadian owned ships.

The maximum number of permanent jobs after the line is completed is only 50. They will all be Canadians.

The only thing in it for the USA is we get to deal with the oil spill when the pipe breaks. Just as what happened for a second time last week when the Yellowstone River got over 100,000 gallons of crude dumped in it when another Canadian pipeline that crossed over the river broke.

…and now, with the price of oil so low, the Canadians no longer want to build the pipeline at all. So it's a dead pig in a poke.

Of all the things the GOP could have chosen to launch their new show of supposed responsibility, Keystone is absolutely the worst of all. And the GOP Representatives tacked on a bunch of equally stupid riders to the bill, making double sure that if it ever passes through the House, the Senate will kill it. If the GOP Senators are so reckless as to pass it, Obama will veto it.

Rightly so. if Canada wants a pipeline running through the heart of the world's richest grain belt, there had better be some substantial protections built in to their plan for our soil, and there had better be a lot of good paying, solid, long-term jobs for Americans built into it to.

You and I have already seen what has come from the Canadians moving their huge oil drilling equipment around through our state, over our narrow and twisty roads. Keystone is nothing more than an even bigger blunder that poses even bigger catastrophes. Common sense says this was a loser from the start.
