Neither argument is legit but yes, when one does it you can't complain when the other does it also.

OP, Along with their war on success Democrats have been declaring war on marriage period! If you don't believe that learn something about the tax law, take a look at Obamacare.

And why is it that Obama wants to raise taxes on a single person making $200k and a married couple making $250K. That sounds like a war on marriage to me.

The government shouldn't be involved in marriage at all.

It's laughable that OP is concerned about a "war on gay marriage" when Democrats have a war on marriage for both heterosexual and gay marriages.

Of course Democrats want us all to know that they own the single woman vote. Why do they? Marriage penalty” in ObamaCare. Stay single and ObamaCare will subsidizing your healthcare, particularly unmarried mothers.

With only $50k difference in being tagged a couple government can lynch for more money and subsidizing single motherhood OP is worried about gay marriage? Really? Of course they would have to be successful to consider it a concern.

I think you and others with a similar mind set are missing something very important. This is about lawmakers proposing laws that would hurt a lot of people. I doubt it will pass or if it does it will be ruled unconstitutional. Nevertheless, it is being proposed by people with power. It clearly has to do with Christianity or the Christianity these lawmakers have interpreted. How you cannot see that this is something that would happen in a Christian Theocracy is beyond me. Well, I presume it is because you want to live under this kind of system. To fight against this system or make parallels to the Muslim equivalent is not unfair or anti-Christian.

You guys would have some legitimacy if Atheists or anyone in power was proposing laws to ban Christianity. Nobody opposite of you is doing anything to harm you or your family. Fighting for ones' rights is not the equivalent of burning down churches and ostracizing anyone of the Christian faith. There is another proposed law in Virginia that would allow anyone (including hospitals and schools) to legally turn away a gay person. What kind of country do you people want to live in?

[b]Theocracy[b] noun, plural theocracies. a form of government in which God or a deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler, the God's or deity's laws being interpreted by the ecclesiastical authorities. 2. a system of government by priests claiming a divine commission.

Are Democrats trying to deny anyone who isn't religious from getting married? No, they are not. Whatever you are blubbering about has no bearing on the fundamentalist attempts to turn Oklahoma into a theocratic state. That's what this thread is about.

Are you doing this on purpose or do you just have a limited capacity to understand? You're talking about something entirely different. Nothing to do with this discussion. Start a new thread on it if you feel this is an important topic to you.

GOP lawmakers declare

The bill would bar judges from performing weddings and clerks from issuing marriage licenses. Only a clergy member could do so. So in effect, atheists would no longer have the right to marry in Oklahoma.

One of Russ' Republican colleagues, state Rep. Sally Kern, has introduced three of her own bills, one of which would cause state and local employees to lose their jobs if they recognize or grant marriage licenses to gay couples, and judges who violate that edict would be immediately removed from the bench. The bill also calls for state courts to dismiss any legal challenge to the measure.

The Christian Taliban strikes again with their own version of Sharia law. Marriage is reserved for Christians only. All others need not apply.
Do those politicians know that there are non bigoted churches that will marry same sex couples?
