No we're not. There's no split. None at all.
The white community is the one that is split on whether or not Sharpton is our political voice. Black folks have NOTHING to do with that conversation or the confusion surrounding it.
We're (black folks) not confused at all. We know where we stand.
Only about 24% of Blacks see Al Sharpton as any kind of leader. When a poll was released some time ago, the largest group of Blacks polled did not see anyone as their leader.
There are many smart black people and Ben Carson is a very smart man. I would love for him to become president. We need a good moral black man to be a good role model for all American people in this present time .

Black voters supported Obama by 95% in 2008 and 93% in 2012. By extension Sharpton is in fact a leader in the black community.
If whites voted 95% for a presidential candidate who brought in David Duke as a top advisor, would we let them get away with a denial that Duke was a 'white leader?' No, we would make them own it. Actions speak louder than words, and a 95% vote speaks louder than any poll.
