No, statements like this are arrogant. There is no scientific consensus, only agreeable lemmings trying to make a living in the scientific community.

Climategate 2.0: New E-Mails Rock The Global Warming Debate
Climategate 2.0? Did you not notice that Taylor's article is dated 11/23/2011? New indeed....It was false then and it is still false...

Source check.... James Taylor — a professional denial propagandist. He not a climate scientist or even a scientist in any way. He’s a lawyer paid by the Heartland Institute to write climate change denial propaganda.

There is a scientific consensus. Right wing denialists continuing to spout lies long after they've been exposed as lies is not debate, it's just people continuing to tell lies long after they've been exposed as lies. You know that guy who used to pop in and say temperatures haven't increased in X years? After I proved him wrong, the debate was over. It was still over even after even though he kept saying it, because repeating false claims doesn't make them true.

But perhaps you use a different definition of "debate" than those who are aware of the reality of things.

You actually think there is a man in the moon? You are wrong, as I have been keeping abreast of climate change and it's causes for years....It is painfully obvious that you haven't.

But we're obliged to pretend his opinion has as much weight as that of someone whose work has scientific rigor because to do otherwise makes the right sad.

Actually that is one of the things James Taylor regurgitates over and over again....

October 9, 2014

James Taylor is quoted in the Heartland Institute's press release, “Heartland Institute Climate Experts Comment on 18 Straight Years of No Global Warming,” which states “the global mean surface temperature has not risen for 18 consecutive years. http://www.desmogblog.com/james-taylor

Science is not based on consensus; it is based on empirical evidence - evidence that is observable, measurable, verifiable. There is no debate about global warming in the scientific community; it's happening, and at an accelerated rate.

There is not a man in the mood, which is exactly my point.

What is painfully obvious is that I do not agree with you. Your conjecture about what I know vs. what you know is wholly a reflection of that and not one thing more.

If there is no debate then there is no science.

The term "settled science" is at odds with the very essence of what science really is.

Skepticism and debate are not contrary to science. In fact they are the central essence of science.
