Maybe they need to figure out why their Countries economy is so inefficient instead of trying to get them to pay for their sociial net that isn't workable anymore.

Well one of the reasons is the taxes are so high people dodge them. Another example I saw was the public transportation which was heavily subsidized by the government, even with the subsidies they weren't paying the fares which were collected under an honesty system.

Not for me to say whether or not Germany owes the Greeks anything.

Why not? Most countries got paid or forced Germany to pay reparations,Grece has every right to demand it.

Because it's a bald faced attempt to get another country 70 years after the fact to use someone else's money to pay for their socialism.

Greece put itself into that position. Not up to another country to rescue it. If I was a member of the European Union, I would vote remove Greece from the union, they go back to the drachma and watch it instantly tank and I wouldn't care.

Exactly. What a lesson for the younger generations and those yet to come. It really has nothing to do with World War II, simply bad choices by those that followed. Especially the 68er's.

Rich Greeks have been avoiding paying their fair share of taxes for at least 3,000 years. I do not expect them to stop anytime soon.

IMHO - the Germans of today do not owe the Greeks of today anything. What is done is done.

The world has too many failed nations that usually went down the tubes due to failed socialist experiments. Greece is one of them. Apparently in Greece paying taxes is optional, and government employees can retire and receive pensions starting at age 40 (yeah, I kid you not).

Germany doesent owe Greece squat, Greece owes Greece to man up and stop being stupid ... or be swallowed up by someone else.
