Why shouldn't they be allowed? If they want to serve, they should have the opportunity. There's no SENSIBLE (there'a long list of stupid reasons) reason why they shouldn't be allowed. I'm sure no one can form an intelligent reason as to why, so I'll just say yes they can and wait and see if anyone tired to justify why they can't (since everyone so far who's said no doesn't go into detail).

Neither exist, so no.
If they don't exist, you can't say they aren't allowed to serve. Because they don't exist. How can you ban something that isn't real?
I'm saying you recognize the existence of transgenders, but dislike them and feel this means they can't serve in the military, for reasons that I'm sure you couldn't explain even if you tried.
EDIT: For the record, I live with a transsexual that served. She was a Navy Seal before she transitioned (No, not that one). I live next to one that served and transitioned IN the military, they booted her out a few months before retirement for that. She served for over a year just fine, until some prick that never met her found out about it.
As long as they do not require the military to pay for their hormone medication, I think they should be allowed to serve if they wanted to.
The Supreme Court's decision on DOMA also opens up a wide range of military benefits to same-sex spouses.
Society is constantly changing and improving, if the transgender person is able to serve honorably, I think the person should be allowed to.
