LMAO! Right on cue. Ever hear of the German Democratic Republic?

Are you being deliberately dim? Here, I'll try CAPS.

THE NAZIS PUT SOCIALISTS IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS. THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION STAYED IN PRIVATE HANDS.

Read a book.

TRY real hard to understand American Conservatism and how it differs from the way Progressives define "Right' and "Left" If you don't understand that, public education has failed you.
Read a book.

The main issue is individualism vs collectivism. Nazis and Socialists and Communists are all collectivist. (Directed at both, not just you nvxplorer)

I understand. I wasn't addressing that. I was addressing the often repeated nonsense that Nazis were socialists. They weren't. Economically, the Nazis were not collectivist.

Strictv dictionary definitions are useless in the real world. Because 2 different flavors of SOCIALISTS (COMMUNISTS & Nazis) go to war, DOESN'T mean one of them isn't Socialist.

Here's the key. When GODvernment is supreme over the citizen, and the citizen has no rights, you have a variation of SOCIALISM.

When the government fears the Citizen you have AMERICAN CONSERVATISM.

American Conservatism is NOT the same as European Conservatism, but it's late ad I don't have time to teach you the basics. I hope you'll pick it up along the way, but I'd read beyond Wikipedia.

Goebbels never doubted that he was a socialist. He understood Nazism to be a better and more plausible form of socialism than that propagated by Lenin. Instead of spreading itself across different nations, it would operate within the unit of the Volk.
So total is the cultural victory of the modern Left that the merely to recount this fact is jarring. But few at the time would have found it especially contentious. As George Watson put it in The Lost Literature of Socialism:
It is now clear beyond all reasonable doubt that Hitler and his associates believed they were socialists, and that others, including democratic socialists, thought so too.

I know all about the roots of the Nazi party. That's where the name came from. Hitler changed all of that. Here's the key: Socialism is an economic philosophy. Authoritarianism comes in many different flavors, but it is not a synonym for socialism.

Alright, makes sense. I just see people go off track sometimes and begin arguing about minor details...so I came to annoy you both and say that it doesn't matter if they were socialist...at least not for this topic. I get that you wanted to clear that up though.

Yep, but it's falling on deaf ears.

Did you know that East Germany was a democracy?

What's with all these charts, anyway? I don't need a chart to know the difference between liberty and tyranny, and I couldn't care less what boxes these charts put people into.

Read a book.
They also put capitalists in concentration camps. A lot of them were Jews.

The truth is Mussolini, the founder of fascism, was a Marxist who tweeked Marxism when he realized that government bureaucrats were better at stealing than producing.
