I see the constant debate about the left and the right, and I can tell most of you never made it out POLS 101. To argue about the left in the right in a modern left right spectrum is false on its face. Tyranny of the left and the right is not possible.
This is the modern day chart. It is woefully inaccurate. Tyranny or the left and right can't end the same way.
If you agree with that chart, you don't understand AMERICAN Conservatism.
American Conservatives recognize the GOD GIVEN rights of the INDIVIDUAL.
Liberals/Socialists/Nazis/Communists (all versions of the same thing) believe The People exist to serve the good of the State.
American Conservatives do not recognize the rights of the individual. In fact, they talk out of both sides of their mouth. Gay marriage, drugs, and abortion that don't violate anybodies life liberty or property. We can debate abortion but I am just trying to use it as an example. Not to mention the bills such as the Patriot Act that has done little to provide safety and security, but it has put our right to privacy into question. You can't pick and chose what parts of the Bill of Rights you like and don't like.
Is this where people post to make the claim that their preferred ideology could never, ever be taken too far and that extremism is something reserved for the opposite side of the spectrum?

Probably. Left/Right paradigm argument is false, and it needed to be aired out. I don't like tyranny in any of its forms.
Hitler put socialists in concentration camps. They were identified with a red triangle: Red triangle—political prisoners: social democrats, socialists, trade unionists, Freemasons, communists, and anarchists.
The only industry nationalized under Hitler were the railroads. Everything else stayed in private hands. The Nazis hated socialists, and their economy was very much capitalist.

Fascism, which Nazism is a part of, believes people should serve the state. The other ideologies don't.
That chart is a bit illogical. The Constitution outlines the powers (force) of government, yet it claims constitutional republicanism is a "no force" doctrine. Sorry, that doesn't make any sense. Limited force? Yes. No force? LMAO.

Ever hear of the National SOCIALIST Party? Yeah there are different flavors of SOCIALISTS, but socialists nonetheless.
TRY real hard to understand American Conservatism and how it differs from the way Progressives define "Right' and "Left" If you don't understand that, public education has failed you.
Orwell had a quote where he essentially agrees with you, OP. "The real division is not between conservatives and revolutionaries, but between authoritarians and libertarians."
I don't call myself right or left, but I am completely anti-authoritarian. No person or group has the right to forcefully control another against their will. I own me, and you own you. Whatever justification is used, it is anti-human and tyrannical to have your opinions enforced on others, and to force them to pay for what you want.
If anyone reading this agrees with me and is not an anarchist/voluntaryist, they are logically inconsistent. If they believe it's okay to subjugate their neighbor and control them, I think that's evil.
