I support a complete withdrawal of the US from all ME affairs. We provide our own energy and stop supporting anyone there. Let them sort their own problems out, eventually the people there will tire of living in the 14th century.
If we can get the U S trained Iraqi"s to not throw down their weapons and run there could be a 3 prong attack on ISIS. The U S should sell them military equipment and let them destroy ISIS themselves. With the wind on their backs other nations will join in.

I do think the U S should not dither on selling military weapons to Jordan, the king might not want to wait and Putin and the Russians will be right there.

There was a time when America stood against these atrocities.
What time was that?

Atrocities occured before the Internet/ social media.

There have been hundreds of conflicts completely ignored by the U.S. Here are some of the most notable :

Between 1958-62, 45 million Chinese were exterminated by Mao's forces.

Stalin's purge of Russia killed 6 million.

The Cambodian Genocide resulted in the death of 2 million.

The Armanian Genocide killed 1.5 million.

All men 18-45 were eligible for the draft in WW2. About 10 million were drafted.

Have you enlisted?

Get back to me when either Jordan or Egypt get mad enough to commit ground forces, bombing is ineffective and more for show than anything else.

Funny how the US airstrikes are deemed ineffective but when Jordan does the same they are courageous.

Some advice to those who want the US to get involved go down to the recruitment station, if you need directions let me know.

May I add that the U.S. is bankrolling the Jordanian airstrikes.

The U.S. spent years training and supplying the Iraqi Military. When the bad guys came, they shed their uniforms and hid.

How many of those trained and supplied by the U.S. were or became ISIS?

Isn't defense one of the main jobs of government? Exactly why is it that you think america should do for egypt what egypt should be doing for itself?

The us provides military aid to egypt, and has been for years. Why on earth do you think we do that - so their parades look more impressive????

On an annualized basis, the Iraq War cost us $ 1 Trillion a year, each year , when interest on debt and Veteran services are factored into the cost. Every cent was deficit spent.

According to the Pentagon, the limited airstrikes that occured between August and mid December, 2014 were running about $8.1 million a day. I have not seen reports of the cost over the past 2 months which will be substantially higher.
The U.S. Military has never been able to account for the spend.

The U.S. has committed $ 1 billion to Jordan.

This is the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah, but that was OK because it was GOP spending.

They only object strenuously when someone proposes spending taxpayer dollars to benefit taxpayers, as in infrastructure projects.
