You can go back to posts on this forum from November 2012 to see ample evidence of astroturfing. A lot of posters magically disappeared in the middle of election night (once victory was called for Obama), never to return again.
Every 'issue' Democrats raise has been astroturfed. Then they start funnelling federal funds allocated to address the fake issue to not for profit money laundering organiztions which Dems steal. It's a criminal racket.
The Democratic Party is the organized crime of our time.

Yes, there certainly are a ton of examples in the current administration. If you look at the Obamacare page on Facebook for example, it is obviously filled to the brim with paid posters. To be fair though, astroturfing can be seen in all major political parties and you can even see how it's used to discredit smaller parties.
Being aware that this is happening is probably the single biggest thing that a person can do to stop themselves from being manipulated.
I care that people are being manipulated in order to change policy, laws, etc. which in turn effects all of us. I won't stop caring about that.
Quit allowing yourself to be manipulated.

Two people arguing over something is quite different from one person arguing against a PR machine. Don't you think?
No. Eric Cantor had a huge PR machine and still lost to an underfunded campaign. How much did Coke spend on P.R. for "New Coke"? Just because people have a different opinion on things do not mean they have been manipulated into that position.

Judging by your questions, I see that you don't really understand what astroturfing is. It is essentially a PR campaign, paid for by corporations and government entities to push and agenda but make it seem like a grassroots effort.
I love how the anti-vaxxers wrap themselves in the purity of selfless investigation....when in reality that movement is just as for profit with websites selling books, vitamins and a host of other products.....oh, and the trial lawyers funding "studies" like Wakefields.
For someone that got badly suckered by Wakefield and a bunch of trial lawyers you sure seem certain that your side is the good one and doesn't resort to underhandedness, false info and other tactics.
Does it matter? If it's just the positions of a small group of people it isn't likely going to go anywhere. It was like the protests over minimum wage. Protesters had to be paid and bused in to make it look like some movement. It went no where.
And many"protesters in Ferguson were paid. Look at some their signs and the logo at the bottom.

And? Did it make you go protest?
