My neighbors (both idiots) are perfect examples of what is wrong with the health care system. He's a drug pusher for one of the big drug corporations. He drives a full sized 4WD pickup that the company pays for, gas included because he occasionally uses it for business. This includes the gas he burns on the weekend and on vacations. So he pulls his big boat all over the state and our healthcare dollars pays for it. And I'm sure he's making 150+ per year.
His wife drives a big SUV, same story. She's one of these nurse/nazi's that go around determining if people are really sick or not and if they should be covered and paid. What a waste of money both of them are.
They need to overhaul the entire system top to bottom.
Go somewhere else with your simple minded responses. This is why we cannot have an intelligent discussion on a huge problem for this country.
But that's one of the principal tactics right-wingers use to rationalize their immoral callous disregard for those most vulnerable in society: Dumb everything down so that the nuances that differentiate humanity from cold, calculating psycopathy are obscured.
This!! I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon with a great friend who lives in Fort McMurray, Alberta on the phone yesterday. I think the idea of everyone having coverage is fantastic (but logically there's no way we here in the States can do it due to monetary constraints and those who refuse to work and pay taxes), but hearing her talk.... the health care in Canada isn't all it's cracked up to be as far as choice, quality of care, and additional costs out of ones pocket.
Neither is it in the us. We have a pretty bad healthcare rating compared to everywhere else.
If you oppose health care reform (the inferior Obamacare, or much preferred single-payer model), please list your reasons for doing so.
I oppose universal health care as a right for every American citizen because:
1.
2.
3.
Good luck.
All I need to do is look at where the federal government has been running other heath care programs
0bamaCare - over budget, costly to consumers, internal confusion, horribly implemented
Veterans administration health care - horribly implemented
Medicare - over budget, poorly managed and implemented, low reimbursement rates
Medicare - over budget, poorly managed and implemented, low reimbursement rates
If health care is a right, so is food, clothing, housing, and free annual income

Gruber, is that you?
How minds are put to waste, or just remember what is convenient for them...at that time...

We also have an excessively highly progressive tax stucture compared to everywhere ese. If you want social welfare programs, everyone has to pay as happens in European countries. Take a look at the two tax progressivity charts, here:

I refuse to be responsible for others health care.

Health care is a right.
What isn't a right is forcing someone else to pay for it.

Good thing, then, that that's not what happens, with ACA or UHC. Only silly self-deception leads one to think that that's the mechanics of the situation.
