Obama holds a summit in Washington to address the fight against violent extremism. Sixty nations attend. And yet, the right continues to accuse him of weak leadership. Are they blind, deaf AND stupid? What does "real" leadership look like to his critics?

Today, the President briefly outlined a larger effort to combat the extremists recruiting campaign in an opinion piece published in the Los Angeles Times. Among other things, he says this:

"...Finally — with al Qaeda and ISIL peddling the lie that the United States is at war with Islam — all of us have a role to play by upholding the pluralistic values that define us as Americans..."

He graciously omitted those peddling the same lie at FOX and from Republican pulpits across the country. Maybe he shouldn't have. Maybe he should have used this opportunity to take his critics to task for siding with the enemy in trying to create a global, religious war.
