I wish we expect more of our leaders but after George Bush everyone else looks like a far more capable, compassionate, and honest leader.
It's fascinating all the people now paying attention to Bill O'Reilly, who never gave him a second's thought before or didn't even know who he was, all because their own Brian Williams has been discredited and disgraced as a chronic liar.
Here's a tip for you.
There is no real relevant news on any of the MSM broadcast media or cable "news" stations. It's all shilling for the corporate status quo, endless celebrity/sports figure gushing, parroting of favored politicians as fact with no counterpoint, war mongering and pundit opinion give as news.
Hmmm? Very defensive. Has Brian Williams been proven to be a "chronic" liar? Or are you bending the truth just a bit? Glass houses.

Are you suggesting that if Bill O'Reilly misrepresented his experience in a "war zone", that is somehow less significant that when Brian Williams did it?

Possibly because there is a difference between knowingly lying to advance one's self and presenting an assurance that could not be delivered upon or even making an honest mistake. The difference may be subtle, but significant to an intelligent observer.
BTW, for the vast majority of people that statement about Obamacare is true. However, for partisan reasons the minority situation is being exploited. Had he said, "the vast majority of people will not have to change health care providers", folks like yourself would have had to look elsewhere for nits to pick. If I wanted to attack Obama or Obamacare, I could find a lot of better things to waste my breath about, that is for certain.
Also, you do understand that every single politician has to lie to even exist in that world? On the other hand, all a journalist has is his credibility.

I thought this was a current events forum. Bush has been out of office for 6 years now.
That is the power of George Bush. His legacy is current news and will be for generations to come. The damage he has done, to the economy and to peace, will be felt everyday until radical Islamism disappears and the economy goes back to having a budget surplus.

Obama lied to advance his healthcare law many, many times. Brian Williams has now been proved to have lied to advance himself. Oreilly has been cleared by everyone except MotherJones and Media Matters who as we all know are further left than NBC.
Strange isn't it, how a segment can claim they are going to be the change and then immediately fall back on goose and gander talk?
Exactly how many more nations have been invaded on trumped up excuses of WMD? That is welcome change for me.
