Great. Let's just talk about the ones that are rather than exhausting our efforts ruling out those that aren't. We've made that point. Muslims are not being victimized on any scale by anyone other than the same people that are mass murdering others too. If it's a common enemy, show leadership and rally everyone, but we act like it's Christians and anyone else targeting Muslims while at the same time, saying III doesn't represent Islam because they kill Muslims. The attempts at equivalence damage the argument.

I think, many believe so and are saying so, just read through the forum and you'll have an idea.
We're not defending Islam, we're explaining the mistakes made by certain people thinking we're at war with all Muslims

Muslims countries and Muslims have been fighting extremism for years before America or Europe even heard about it.

Algeria civil war is a good example it happened in 90', years before 9/11 and extremism has been defeated in Algeria.

Muslims countries fighting have been prevented to buy arms by the same countries that blame Muslims countries not doing enough to fight terrorism.

In Afghanistan during the Russian invasion, Taliban were US allies , so they got all training and arms at their disposal, Ben Laden was also fighting the Russia, he was a US ally, so why are we blaming Muslims for not fighting terrorism

We fought a war over there and it didn't work...my son was training Afghans to be police officers who could not speak English....he had an intepreter....and yet, after pay day, the Afghans would disappear back into the mountains, they were the terrorists, who came down and pretended to want change, and then took the pay check that America was giving them and went right back into the mountains.

Don't get me started, b/c you have no idea, the money this country wasted trying to help those people.

Get em all out of this country and lets clean up America.....we have tons of problems that need to be fixed right here, and let them all fight their own wars.....but I'll not ever agree with wiping them off the face of the earth, that is no better then Hitler himself...Good people have to learn to fight for their own cause....
Just the fact that you are only concerned about the money we spent at war, and not the soldiers killed and injured gives me an insight to who you are. Did we have to wipe out the Nazis? Or the Japanese? War is ugly. They are promoting it and we must end it. Forget coalitions, training them, 'spreading democracy", or negotiations. Just bomb them to smithereens. Before they get a nuke and hit us or our allies.

On this forum, most people seem to want to alienate the majority of Muslims, you're one of the few who doesn't .
This is an ideology based on false religious pretense, the only way to defeat it, is by not falling into their trap and attacking Islam and all Muslims.
Most of their victims are Muslims, so if you push Muslims towards the extremists, you already lost the battle and the war, you'll loose all allies countries fighting on your side.
President Obama is right when he says don't attack Islam as a religion because it will prove to the fanatics that the west is waging a holy war on Islam, be very easy to convince the most reluctant one to join them.
I call BS. No one EVER attacked Islam as a religion. NO ONE. It is the radical Islamists that are attacked. It is not radical Christians, or radical Jews that are beheading Americans and others, or burning people alive, or crashing jets into NYC skyscrapers. I am waiting for the good Muslims to take a stand against these terrorists. We rarely hear that. Why?

True. So why are we so concerned that they will think we're after all Muslims if we join them in their fight against extremists.

What "actions of a few?" I have misgivings about Muslim beliefs, period. And if you consider yourself to be a "progressive" so should you. If someone criticized Christianity would you rise to it's defense? If someone criticized the tea party would you? If not, why would you defend Islam? It makes no sense.
