If I lack authority to overturn it, then I must wait for the courts to make their determination regarding its legality.

While waiting, it won't get a single dime from Congress. Let BO start a GoFundme on Internet.

Why is this?

Texas has been a long time advocate for fences and substantially increased border patrol. It's good for the Texas economy on the Federal dime. Yet Texas has not made e- verify the law. Why is this?

Who built the majority of new residential and commercial construction in Texas over the past 30 years?
Texas has not made E-Verify the law because of the Guest Workers that have crossed the border for generations for day work. No way to put 'day worker' into the E-verify system.

Why has the House avoided a vote on the BIPARTISAN Senate bill?

There are a lot of sticking points to the Senate Bill - one of them is that the Democrats and Administration will fight tooth and nail against ANY change to it. Another is that the Republicans that initially voted for the Senate bill or even supported it in the House .... no longer do so as they have learned more about it.

The major issue has always been the Guest Worker program. That will remain the major issue, as Democrats have no interest in immigrants who can't be bought to vote for them AND Unions have no interest in workers they can't Unionize and collect dues from.

The other main reason that the House has not be able to bring forward any Immigration Law is that very few people actually have a clue about what it's all about. It's become such an Emotional/Polarizing issue that is driven purely by hype that it's going to be just about impossible to get a "comprehensive" law passed.

I'm against ANY "comprehensive Laws" these days - we see the results of the "comprehensive" ObamaCare ........ Immigration Law would have just as many pot-holes and secret actions in a 2500 page Law that not a single one of them have read or understand.

The ONLY answer is going to be breaking it into pieces with some very Straight Talk about what they pieces mean. We need to start by going back to Rule of Law in this country - it's the one thing that worries me the most...Ignoring Law.

That is a road to either Anarchy or distraction of our Constitution and Freedoms.

No, immigration is a federal authority. Arizona was smacked because they attempted to implement their own e-verify. Texas proposed a similar plan.

The republicans tried to insert e-verify into the ACA. We know who shot it down.

Congress could pass the bill in a week. I propose that the republicans pass it as a first start. If the democrats are serious about reform, they should support e-verify. No fences needed.

Default If you were the Speaker of the House, how would you handle Obama's Executive Amnesty?

If anyone besides Boner was speaker of the house, he'd do exactly the same thing Boner's doing: which is whatever his corporate masters dictate.

To do otherwise means you just lost the job.

There should not be guest workers for a day. Now I have no issue with day worker repeats, day in, day out, and they could be put in the system. Single day workers allows folks to cross over with no long-term vested interest in being law-abiding and productive.

A good Speaker will not allow a bill to move forward if there is no chance of it passing. You would not have that problem with Nanci. Or Chip Oneal. I agree with the far wright wing, The Speaker has to go.

The far right wing has even less of a chance to get a bill passed. They are so ineffectual they cannot mount a challenge to even a weak speaker like Boehner.

I agree, the reasons are quite different however. The crazy Tea Party people do not care about anything in the current Government....they are actually for an overthrow of the system we have now.
