The foundation of libertarianism is mutual respect. It is a principle that extends to our relationships with people throughout the world. But this does not mean government to government aid.

A liberal stance in social issues is to keep government out of it, and if your stance is the polar opposite, then I am not sure where you stand.

And some people who call themselves "liberal" are way more conservative than they realize. But they follow what their parents say and remain Democrats because their parents are.
Young Republicans tend to be much more libertarian in their views on social and military issues. There's hope yet for the party. It may just take another decade or two.
I agree. In two decades the crazy train should be dead or retired, and hopefully those who replace them will be sane.

The said the same thing about Reagan. There was a book from 1985 by liberal columnist Richard Reeves entitled The Reagan Detour. This conservative silliness would soon be over, and we would be back on the expressway to liberal utopia. That was 30 years ago.
