Wait for the murderous rage inside someones heart to go away?
But how would that help? Let's be reasonable, if someone's murderous rage is so extreme, they'll kill someone with just about anything they can find within a 10 foot radius of them. If someone is so unstable that old Betty says something snide at church, do you think psycho Dave is gonna head to his local gun store and pick out a gun? No, he'll just pick up the nearest crucifix and bludgeon her head in.
And if someone does go and buy a gun, odds are even without the waiting period that's enough time to allow someone to at least partially cool off, unless the argument that caused them distressed happened in a gun store's parking lot. Meaning if they go out and buy a gun, the murder will have been at least partially premeditated, so logically, the waiting period won't make a huge difference.
I don't know. Background checks maybe. Check for history of mental illness, felony record, non-citizen, etc....
Is that what happens when people without licenses buy and trade guns out of car trunks?
