My wife and I were denied the "right" to be married in her parents church because we were both divorced. According to their denomination, the pastor would be solemnizing (and approving) an adulterous relationship. No, it was not a Catholic church, but their attitude would have been the same!
We never even thought about filing a lawsuit, we just went elsewhere and got married.
No problem.
The gays are forcing Christians bakeries to partake.
Do it, or else......
Although if I was in that situation, I would just take my business elsewhere, but the issue is when business owners are picking and choosing which "sinners" they provide service to. I'll bake this cake for you, even though you are a divorcee getting re-married, but this other customer had a child out of wedlock, so I refuse to service her. But that's another topic for another thread.
When I hear people say "partake" in a general context, people make it sound like you'll have to attend at least one gay wedding ceremony per year, attend gay pride events, have a gay pride month and whatnot.
Yeah they go hand in hand. A dude thinks he's a chick in his head so he's not gay cause he thinks he's female? Get a grip sir.
Um, transgender people can be either straight, gay, or bisexual. The California bill lets transwomen - be they gay, straight, or bisexual - use women's facilities.
No couple is going to subject themselves to having their marriage ceremony, the happiest of occasions, led by a narrow-minded, anti-LGBT preacher.
You'd think so, but I bet you're wrong. They've already proven completely willing to force bakers to make cakes, places to hold receptions, flower shops to make arrangements, why do you think they would stop at forcing a church? For some people politics and pushing their agenda trumps everything.

Actually, I believe churches are public accommodations. However, religious institutions are explicitly exempt from the rules that govern other public accommodations. The effect, of course, is the same, though.
