Interesting article.

With that said, the World's Policeman's shift is over for the day. He needs to come home and focus on the home. Kiss the wife, hug the kids, walk the dog, mow the lawn, etc.

[maybe have a beer]

Honestly, do you really buy that nonsense that you are being spoon fed? Please educate yourself. You can be anti-American and anti-military all you want , but at least educate yourself so you actually no why you are. Read Stephens book it might help you when you're watching msnbc.

True, but when you are the one Superpower you can deter a lot of war and conflict without a shot being fired.

Yep. I buy it completely. That's why I said it.

Really?

Name another first world nation that's been at war as much as we have in the last 75 years.

We've deterred pretty much NOTHING.

...between the Superpowers or between the Superpower (that would be us for now) and our smaller adversaries. That's what proxy wars are for.

You said that having a powerful military helps to prevent wars without a shot being fired.

If that's true, then why are we always at war? Name another first world nation that's been at war more than us since WW2.

I can only think of one nation that is comparable.

Pat Buchanan:

The bipolar world of the Cold War is history. The new world order, however, is not the One World dreamed of by Wilsonian idealists. It is a Balkanizing world where race, tribe, culture and creed matter most, and democracy is seen not as an end in itself but as a means to an end — the accretion of power by one's own kind to achieve one's own dreams.

As Abraham Lincoln said in another time, when an old world was dying and a new world was being born, 'As our situation is new, let us think and act anew.'

Some wanted us to send military force into Ukraine, Kenya, Syria and other places over the past few years, the best thing we can do is provide support and training. It's difficult to watch what some of these terror groups but the best thing we can do is to keep our ground forces home.

Not relevant. I will assume you were not in Iraq or Afghanistan, find some that were and ask them about the ROE. We could easily not be at war, but then people like you would be sniveling about us ending a war like we did in WWII.
