Not the same. McDonald didn't actually do anything for the guy who gave him the gifts and stuff. He was the victim of the corrupt Obama administration.
The fact Andrew Cuomo isn't in jail should be ample proof how corrupt the Obama DOJ is.

Senator Menendez is the ranking Democrat on the Powerful Foreign Relations Committee - His viewpoint on the Iran & Cuban DEALs is important and he is against both, OR at least is demanding Congressional Oversight. The Washington Post has yet another article up on why this will be a very difficult case to prosecute - BUT they don't actually have to figure they have a 'winnable case', they just need to tie him up in an expensive Court Battle. Let's not forget that DOJ and TeamObama sat on this for 2 years and then suddenly there is a "leak" that they will bring Corruption charges. It's pretty stinky AND it's highly predictable. This is pretty standard Playbook for them.
The objective of opening a case is not to convict Menendez or anyone else on obama's enemy list. It is to harass and make the cost of crossing President Stompy Foot prohibitively expensive in time and cash, sending a chilling message to others considering doing so. Obama's buddy Jon Corzine somehow totally "lost" Billions of dollars that belonged to other people ...... he didn't even get a wrist slap. TeamObama had zero interest in Menendez UNTIL he publicly crossed them on Iran & Cuba.

He got "caught" years ago - it was only after he dared to speak out against President Stompy Foot that they went after him. None of this is new, it was around in 2012 and TeamObama/Leftist Democrats put in on the back burner. Holder had zero interest in Menendez until he spoke out against the Great Legacy DEAL with Iran.
Menendez is a sleazebag, but he's certainly no dirtier than Harry Reid. He's also a Democrat which entitles him to immunity by the MSM, but he blew the whistle on our child-president's Iran giveaways and Valerie Jarrett's not going to stand for that.
