Here's a good article about the fallout from the letter: Fallout Seen Worldwide From Republicans' Letter to Iran

IRNA accused Cotton of trying to "humiliate" Zarif by posting a Farsi version of his letter and by tweeting directly to Zarif: "This is the translation of the letter if necessary."

"Now it is clear that Cotton does not know that the Iranian foreign minister has been a U.S. educated figure since young age and he knows English language and the U.S. power structure better than Cotton," IRNA reported

Um, if a guy like Tom Cotton has a low opinion of me, I'm looking in the mirror, not crying foul but that's just me.

There are many precedents for this by Democrats from years gone by. Some on the left will obviously deny and deflect, as usual, since Rachel Maddow and the usual left talking heads are not reporting on this. Howver, for those who are not impenetrable and are willing to consider possibilities other than the leftists talking points, here is one example:

In 1979, Senator Robert Byrd traveled to the Soviet Union during the SALT II talks to “personally explain the requirements of our Constitution” to Soviet premier Leonid Brezhnev. Byrd later wrote: “In Leningrad, I explained that I had come to the Soviet Union neither to praise nor condemn the treaty but to create a better understanding of the treaty in the Senate and to explain to the Soviets the Senate’s constitutional role in treatymaking.”

Bull Squat! I didn't read all the post but did anyone ask what your thoughts were when Pelosi went behind Bush's back and had a powwow with Syrian Dictator Bashar al-Assad.? Maybe she should get the firing squad for treason????

Well, objective is a word.

Here is another example of the many precedents established for this by Democrats:

In the early 1980s, Senator Ted Kennedy secretly approached leaders of the Soviet Union with a proposal: I’ll help you with Ronald Reagan’s defense buildup if you help me defeat him in the 1984 presidential election. Former senator John Tunney conveyed the offer on Kennedy’s behalf.

Is there a difference between a "Treaty" and an "Agreement"? My understanding is the Senate will and does have the last word in ratifying a Treaty but not agreements in which the Obama administration is working on with Iran, not a treaty.

That's all the Senators' letter says. According to some posters here, since CD has non-US readers, you just committed treason. Do you feel that your post was a treasonous act?
