Since there have been few health consequences associated with marijuana use I'd say you won't be on the hook for anything.
Certainly there are health consequences associated with marijuana like any mind-altering substance. Marijuana like tobacco is normally ingested by inhaling smoke into the lungs, impacting your oxygen transfer system, which is your primary source of energy.

Marijuana - Marijuana Use and Effects of Marijuana

It is also linked to memory loss, as anyone who knows a long-term MJ user can attest.

That means it has a negative effect on your CPU, and that is a serious consequence.

If you are willing to foot the bill for all the tests and treatments, I would say go right ahead and get high as a kite. But if I'm getting a bite taken out of my paycheck every week from Obamacare, I'm going to say "keep the MJ ban in place."

You can have your freedom to get high as a kite on MJ, or you can have your welfare state that infantilizes you from cradle to grave. Ultimately and inexorably, you are not going to be able to attain both. The same leviathan state that pays for the consequences of your behavior is going to insist on controlling your behavior.

Write your senators to get them to sign on.
Thanks for the heads up, I just called both of my Senators to tell them to oppose the effort.

Pot doesn't do anything for pain.

OK, so it will be Schedule II with cocaine, opium and amphetamines. That's cool, but does is make a difference?

And the drug pushers and cartels thank you very, very for your stand. Like you, they sure as hell don't want the ban on marijuana to be lifted at the federal level. They're already suffering bad enough as it is from marijuana being legal in Alaska, Colorado and Washington.

Marijuana users are also some of the safest drivers on the road (proven). In states where its been legalized, traffic accidents have decreased.

The drug dealers and cartels thank you very, very much. You're on their side.
