here is the first clue that you dont take him to eat out at a resturant
I've seen a few stories about passengers with severe peanut allergies that necessitate the cabins scrubbed and peanuts banned from the flight. Total silliness. What if there's a peanut in between the seats or somebody opens a bag of pretzels that was exposed to peanuts? I just wouldn't put my kid in that situation.
"And now that I've finally killed the little bastard off and can blame it falsely on another, a few $Million will light up my life and let me get the face-lift tummy-tuck I always wanted."
In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two equally but important groups....
I hope this is posted at every restaurant because I suspect that many people just don't take food allergies seriously enough.
I admit that I was someone who thought eating dairy-free, gluten-free, etc. were preferences, not necessities. I thought that the only food allergies that people could actually die from were nut allergies. Well I learned something today.
Thanks, John1960.
"Scott forgot to bring his epipen and nebulizer to the restaurant, which were both used to open his lungs and help him through an allergic reaction."
Msybe EVERY family with THIS condition should be required to post a sign saying "DON'T FORGET YOUR MEDICATION"
Yes, the parents are responsible for making sure the boy has his medication available, not outdated, and with him at all times, especially when eating out. Very sad but cannot hold minimum wage employees responsible for knowing what is in a pre-mix pancake batter. Most ingredients listed on packages are given in the chemical name.
What was he doing dining in a restaurant, any restaurant? If your allergy is that severe and life threatening, you don't relinquish control of your food.
What was this poor kid/ family doing dining out without his EpiPen and nebulizer?
Sounds to me like a personal injury lawyer convinced the family, "someone has to pay".
In a busy restaurant, it's easy for such a simple mistake to be made. If you have this level of allergy to such a common food product, you DO NOT EAT AT A RESTAURANT WITHOUT YOUR MEDICATIO!! Questions that should be asked include what part of the milk is the source of the allergic reaction? Is the source also found in powdered form? Was the source of his reaction a mistake from the kitchen or from the plant that produced the product used in the kitchen? While the product used may not list milk in it's ingredients, that doesn't mean milk products didn't get into the product or wasn't properly labeled as having milk. Was the kitchen boiling milk for a dish? Is boiling milk enough to put milk proteins in the air to cause an allergic reaction?
