He's right and that pisses you off, because it exposes what we all know has been happening since the 60's.

Where he errs is in believing that the only option to (D)'s is (R)'s.

What Smith said, in part:

"Do you know that since 1964, black America hasn’t given the Republican Party more than 15% of the vote?

Here’s what that means. What that means is that one party, black folks in America are telling one party, ‘We don’t give a damn about you.’ They’re telling the [Democrats] ‘You’ve got our vote.’ Therefore, you have labeled yourself disenfranchised because one party knows they’ve got you under their thumb. The other party knows they’ll never get you and nobody comes to address your interest."

His point is one made in this forum many times.

I don't think soliciting votes based on pigmentation will ever be a good strategy for Republicans. We need to have a message that voters want to support. Unlike the Democrats, I am against ever pandering to voters based on identity politics.

He's only saying something that anybody with half a brain already knows, that if Black people always vote for Democrats then they take your vote for granted and will move on to other "special interest groups"(i.e. gays, illegals) and Republicans won't even bother to deal with you because they feel you won't vote for them anyway.
