The meaning of the words are important to people like Obama, but to their vapid fans, it's all about how he says the words coming out of his mouth, not about what they mean.
Iran is a nation run by radical Mullahs who have stated that negotiations with infidels are not to be honored. Iran has been a major source of funding for international terrorism and limits human rights as a matter of fact. Iran is directly responsible for the deaths of 1,500 US servicemen in Iraq.
And you............... as a liberal............... equate the Mullahs to the Republican Senate?
I remember the overthrow of the Shah of Iran and the subsequent hostage crisis. People on the left were happy as clams and saying things like "the Ayatollah Khomeini will be hailed as a saint". Now the same outfit of Muslim fanatics is running Iran and the left is still singing the same tune.

As your source says Ali Khamenei called for "Death to America", after a crowd he was talking to started chanting it.
But Obama and Kerry are negotiating with President Hassan Rohani (not Ali Khamenei.) And perhaps if republicans in congress did not send Iran letters saying "we will break any deal you make with Obama", then the crowd may not have been chanting "Death to America."
Fact is the Iranians are some of the most intellectual and Western like Muslims there are, and if we don't have some kind of relationship with them, what Muslims will we have a relationship with?
And I don't want to kiss any Muslims as-, but theres something else to think about. In about 40+/- years advancements in computer and medical technology will give Muslim terrorists biological weapons capable of killing millions of Americans.
Then we have ISIS followers spreading into countries like Pakistan (Pakistan has a large number of nuclear weapons.) These Muslim terrorists will soon have biological and nuclear weapons, what are we going to do about it?
We have 2 choices. #1 We can kick every Muslim out of America, bomb every Muslim country so they no longer have electric or internet grids, stop their imports, put a fence around pakistan, and stop all Muslims ability to attack us with nuclear/biological weapons. Or #2 we can try to negotiate and have conversations with Muslims. And do you think America will ever do the #1 military option?
These Muslims want to kill us (and they will soon have biological and nuclear weapons.) There are better things to do than attacking Obama for negotiating with Muslims, or telling Muslims we will not negotiate with you.

Two things happened in the last several days -
Obama did an interview with the Huffington Post and stated this in reply to a question about Netanyahu ....
Asked if there is any reason to believe Netanyahu is serious about a Palestinian state, Obama said, “We take him at his word when he said that it wouldn’t happen during his prime ministership, and so that’s why we’ve got to evaluate what other options are available to make sure that we don’t see a chaotic situation in the region.”
And yet ......
Obama doesn't appear to take the "word" of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran - when he leads a call from the Mosque of "Death to America". These chants of "Death to America" come every Friday (which the press ignores), but this one during the "negotiations" was actually reported this weekend.
Why does he have one criteria for an Islamist extremist who is Supreme Leader for Life in a Theocratic Totalitarian Government - and another criteria for the Democratically elected Prime Minister of a long time ally?
Somebody should ask TeamObama to explain that and we all need to consider the Double Standard and be concerned about it.
