What is it with Republican candidates that have been emerging that they need to draw such a hard line against abortion rights? In 2012 it was part of what cost Romney the election. He took a stand against a womans right to choose and suddenly he was launching a "War on Women" taking away their right to choose. I remember seeing women with slogans painted on their bellies "hands off my womb" etc..

Yesterday I heard a snippet from a Rep. candidate annoucing his running.
His 3 talking points:
Immigration. Good. We need to stem the tide at the border.
Obamacare. Good. we need to take another look at that.
Abortion. WHAT! NO NO NO

A conservative politician puts the fear into most women that they will repeal Roe V Wade. This is not in tune with the younger generation of voters and spells dome for a candidate in this day and age.

Why can't a politician be honest and if they are pro life than say so but don't put the fear into voters that if elected you will be coming after their reproductive rights. I can't think of a more terrible personal decision a woman has to face over an unplanned, unwanted pregnancy?? Gov. should stay out of it.

This is what I want to hear from a Candidate, "I am personally pro life but I believe in a womans right to choose and will uphold that Right."

To all the Conservative candidates do not torpedo your presidential run.

I don't think this issue had anything to do with why Romney lost at all.

Well great. Then liberals need to practice :

Guns are scary but I support the constitution.

Illegals are human citizens but I support the rule of law and will not tolerate lawbreakers.

There was a history of discrimination in our past but voter ID laws make sense in our modern society.

You might even pick up the independent vote.

It's the progressives, in both political parties, who want to place more power and authority into the hands of the Congress and especially the president. Then you guys worry, whine and wail that a future president might be able to change the abortion laws for the entire nation.

The president does not have the constitutional power to alter abortion or marriage laws for the nation, but it's the progs who bring this doom on themselves by encouraging and promoting ever more power and authority in the hands of the federal government, and less for the states.

It's been the Conservatives who have been trying to put the breaks on, and the progs complain that we are nuts. But here you are whining and whinging when you are brought face-to-face with the results of your own handiwork.

This is very simple.

Do you oppose people stomping the heads of unwanted dogs to get rid of them? No.

Ok. Many people believe that a fetus is a human; therefore, the idea of killing that human is even more disgusting to them than the idea of stomping the heads of unwanted dogs.

I'm not here arguing when a fetus is a human, I'm just stating that people who believe that will be very interested on the stance and be very emotionally invested.

not many people are so dumb they do not believe a fetus isn't human. abortion is not comparable to someone stomping the head of unwanted dogs. as to the op most all republicans put up for office are pro life, some of them would like to reverse the laws we have now.
