The 2% (or is it 3% now?) gross income penalty may have had something to do with it.

He could have just, I don't know, chosen to forgo health insurance and be responsible for that decision either way.

God forbid.

Used to do a little consulting for Memorial Sloan-Kettering in NYC...you're spot on.

All healthcare plans must comply with the ACA/Obamacare unless the state has extended a temporary grandfather waiver.

Insurers licensed in DC sell individual plans in DC and elsewhere, offer Bronze- Platinum Plans. While all comply with the ACA, they must also comply with state insurance laws. For example, adult children can remain on their parent's plans till age 31 in NJ. This was true before the ACA and remains true today.

This is one very simple example of state nuance. No two states have the same state insurance or tort laws. And it all matters.

It must be good as he is on it. Coulda gone on COBRA (?), not use it and pay cash. But nope, he is on Obamacare.

Bottom line, he caved. So much for his "principles".
Goldman's insurance plans are all ACA compliant. He's been on " Obamacare, since it became law 1/1/14.

Had he opted for the Goldman Sachs COBRA Plan, he would have still been insured by an ACA compliant plan- Obamacare.

Every member of Congress, both chambers, has been insured by an ACA compliant Obamacare Plan, unless they chose to forgo healthcare insurance.

REPUBLICAN HEALTH CARE BILLS (IGNORED) - USA Politics

Low info voters gonna spread low info lies....
This bill sought nothing more than to eliminate the individual mandate. Nothing more or less.

It was not a health care plan.

It was referred to committee and ignored by Paul's own party.

In his 12 terms, Ron sponsored 620 bills. Of them 4 made it to a vote on the house floor. Of this, 1 became law- the sale of a customhouse in Galveston.

I admired his consistency.

If your insurance is being paid by the taxpayers, your income must be under $17,000 +/. Correct?

Guess pg became one of those pesky "Takers" that Gop apologists despise !!

If Ted gets HIS WAY...pg will lose his insurance and have to go back to paying for his HC Policy again

Who in their right mind would do that?
Assuming this is true, why then would he have not opted instead to use the Goldman Sachs COBRA Plan.

Perhaps it was more costly and/or perhaps he wanted to get some mileage out of it for campaigning purposes.

Whatever the reason, it cost him about $10,000 out of pocket. Cheap price for publicity and face time.

Thank you for owning it.

I am familiar with it and it's nowhere near ready for the Senate.

Taxing the value of the employer's contribution to the premium is not likely to go over well , regardless of partisanship.
