Nothing is black and white, except for these two collors, of course.
You're dealing in absolutes by saying there are no absolutes.

It's not a principle if you have any exception to it. I believe there are things that are black and white...rape is one that people probably would agree with. I include violating people's right to their property as another, along with being the initiator of physical force...and rape happens to fall under both of those.

Did the mother have boobs? How would the baby starve?

WHO is trying to decrease formula use, from Wiki:

Quote:

Leading health organizations (e.g. WHO, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Department of Health and Human Services) are
attempting to reduce the use of infant formula and increase the prevalence of
breastfeeding from birth through 12 to 24 months of age through public
health
awareness campaigns
The specific goals and approaches of these breastfeeding
promotion
programs, and the policy environment surrounding their
implementation, vary by country. As a policy basic framework, the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk
Substitutes
, adopted by the WHO's World Health Assembly in 1981, requires infant
formula companies to preface their product information with statements that
breastfeeding is the best way of feeding babies and that a substitute should
only be used after consultation with health professionals
The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative also restricts use
by hospitals of free formula or other infant care aids provided by formula
companies.

If everyone who ran short of money and needs something to eat goes into Walmart and steals what they want or need, Walmart would have to raise prices significantly on their paying customers. It is not Walmart's obligation to have their goods STOLEN so your baby (that is the parents obligation to care for) is fed. Those nice little American flag debit cards and WIC are made for this purpose, not theft.

"We will be greeted as liberators"

Any evidence failure to think is confined to liberals?

BTW, I don't do FB, are you actually required to state your political leaning in posts or is this pure speculation here?

When people no longer own, but are owned, then there is no theft.
You cannot steal from people who cannot own.
Welcome to the new socialist plantation.

Maybe because they said "there was a liberal posting". Regardless, you guys & the OP are outraged about........some random person on FB. Too funny & pathetic. Like I said, get a job guys. Maybe life will be more fulfilling if life was filled with actual work instead of nonstop scanning the internet for things to be outraged about. Sad sad people.

Yeah thats reasonable too.

Sorry, but "only a Sith deals in absolutes" is oddly appropriate.
Liberals are all about killing unborn babies yet stealing is okay because "its for the children".

Stealing is stealing, no matter the reason. Maybe people shouldn't procreate if they can't afford the end result.

A lifetime ago I worked in retail. The amount of theft is staggering by customers and employees. In every single case that I turned in they either had cell phones, expensive purses, and very nicely dressed. Many people shop lift because they just don't want to pay. They would rather save their money for other things. In many cases of shoplifting they later return the items for CASH. Formula is expensive, not large. Easy cash. Also, I can not tell you the amount of baby formula sold on social sites. Even those free samples you get in the mail I see being sold on neighborhood facebook for sale pages. I would never buy it but MANY buy it if they can save a few bucks.

Shop lifting to feed a starving infant? I doubt it. Not with the amount of help through food banks, churches, the government and charity. So this so called caring mom was willing to risk jail? What good does that do the child? The child will be fed once the baby is removed from the home if mom gets arrested.

What if you steal food and not formula? If you are defending the theft of formula where do you draw the line? What if its childrens tylenol? Diapers? Clothing? Crackers? Teething rings?

Having the (unaffordable) baby in the first place was wrong.

I take it that this poster didn't volunteer to purchase the formula for the person?
