Seems to have been a suicide, or a possibly a case of psychosis (marijuana induced?) but it remains to be proven.
This is one drawback to having terrorist-proof cockpit doors. Once they are locked, no one gets in. Maybe there should be a remote switch where the ground control can unlock it in situations like this.
"Marijuana induced" psychosis"? Must have been some potent $hit.
I caught the news this morning on this and remember them saying that our flight rules are different than over in Europe. If a pilot leaves the cockpit, someone always takes their place. That way 2 people are there at all times. Europe doesn't have this rule and I bet you after this incident that will change.
Absolutely. Just seems like common sense to take this pre-caution. Are the European airlines too cheap to use three pilots per plane?
When did Obama rule out terrorism? That statement sounds a little idiotic. People with an agenda are always trying to bring Obama into every situation. There's help available for this condition...

There is a fraction of partisan idiots in this forum and the nation at large that have to try to make every incident in the world an anti-Obama moment. It gets old.
Sorry, but your hero has basically brought this upon himself with his administration's past idiocies and either being dishonest or jumping to conclusions in multiple situations (Benghazi YouTube excuse, Candy Crowley assistance, Michael Brown, parading Bergdahl's parents in the rose garden as if he's some hero, etc.)
Obama said" no indication of terrorism", the same thing Merkel, the Spanish and French government said.
Post a link to Merkel saying that please. When I just searched, all the links say only that the White House said that. I couldn't find a link of Merkel saying that.
Searching Googling for Germanwings "no indication of terrorism" brings up link after link of "US says no terrorism" "White House says no terrorism" etc
From the beginning, this crash seemed suspicious since it made a regulated descent into the mountains with no distress calls.
I didn't understand why Obama came out the same day and said there was no indications of terror, since no one really knew at that point.
Turns out, this was no accident. The voice recorder shows that the co-pilot asked the pilot if he could control the plane for a bit. The pilot said yes, and left the cockpit for a few minutes. When he returned, the door was locked. The pilot tried to break in to the cockpit, but was unsuccessful, and the co-pilot purposefully crashed into the mountains, killing everyone on board.
We don't know the co-pilot's motivation yet, but it seems like in the future, the responsible thing to do would be wait for the investigation whether than running out and declaring it's not terrorism the first day.
Maybe the co-pilot had a heart attack, or some other medical condition which rendered him/her unconscious? The one glaring whole in that argument is that it appears the plane was purposely set on the course which destroyed the plane, and I'm not sure if simply falling unconscious could trigger that or not.
