Don't see a problem with setting certain rules I suppose.

Kansas Bans Poor People From Spending Welfare On Cruise Ships

Quote:
Kansas welfare recipients will be unable to get more than $25 per day in benefits under a new law sent this week to Republican Gov. Sam Brownback's desk by the state legislature.

The bill also prohibits welfare recipients from spending their benefits at certain types of businesses, including liquor stores, fortune tellers, swimming pools and cruise ships.

"We're trying to make sure those benefits are used the way they were intended," state Rep. Michael O'Donnell (R) said, according to the Topeka Capital-Journal. "This is about prosperity. This is about having a great life."

GOOD IDEA.

Many poor people got that way by buying what they want and then begging for what they need. That habit usually cannot be changed.

Evidently, complete freedom is just more than some people can handle.

I'm surprised this wasn't part of the law when first written.

Does this mean they can't buy marijuana at the dispensary?

The injustice of it all..... (not)

At the check out stand one day in a chinese store in Cupertino, I was behind a man who bought boxes of uncovered meat and animal bones, which he paid for with food stamps. As he loaded them inot his new car, the clerk rolled her eyes and stated that he owns a restaurant.

So glad to see my tax dollars make a profit for others, but don't know whether the marijuana growers will accept them.

I really don't have a problem w/ people smoking marijuana its just in reality a high percentage of people lack the will power or self-discipline to responsibly use it & it screws them up. I also think I large percentage of the medical marijuana cases or lies or IOW excuses to legally get high w/ no legitimate medical reasons for use.
