I think some companies can easily do that sort of thing if they are really profitable. And how great for the lucky few that get into the company! But the companies that aren't that well off wouldn't be able to offer the same. It's not all bad, I think even a bump in minimum wage could put some people who shouldn't be in business out of business (I don't support unpaid internships or slave labor either) and someone else could step up and try their hand at doing it better.
Those companies still have low-skill jobs, right? So what is the hiring procedure for those positions? Managers' cousins first?
