Not everyone can start and run a business. In edition to offering benefits already mentioned capitalist offer an additional benefit by employing people.

Believing trickle up works is laughable. Can we depend on the poor to run businesses and employ people? How can the poor who claim something as simple as getting a voter ID is too hard do that? They can't even support themselves and need a government check. Would you want to depend on someone who's skill is flipping burgers to employ you so you could support your family?

*addition

Remove all the money from the bottom 99% What happens?
Almost all businesses fail. The economy collapses as no one can buy anything.

Remove all money from the top 1%. What happens?
Well sucks to be them, business continues, and the top 1% slowly recovers.

Trickle up works just fine, trickle down will doom us all eventually. Because it doesn't happen.
