NJ is a democratic state, with local government being Republican, I have no idea how these people get in power, don't know any-one who votes in local elections.
Half of NJ is NYC suburbs, another half is Jersey shore and farmland. Jersey shore had a style of doing things seen in Boardwalk Empire. They opened casinos in NYC and so the casinos lost NYC crowd, but my point is that Casinos is a major force in local government.
But we, the NYC suburb folk, we are a different crowd, for us it's easier to get annexed by NY State then to do something in local elections.
Here the population is growing, but state roads and transportation is not growing inline with population growth. Driving here is constant traffic. It's not like there is no land to make lanes bigger or improve NJ Transit, it's neglected compared to NY.
I went on a date once with a girl that defended Critie, I lacked will power not to make fun of her.
That is living proof pot has a detrimental effect on people's brains. Obama was a pot smoker unlike Clinton who never inhaled.
So all you druggies sell the country down the drain with a vote for HRC so you can mess with your CNS. Smoke is smoke, which if you smoke ciggys, is bad for you.. see the commercials? Smoke pot and no emphysema, lung cancer, trachs, copd etc. right!
CC is a breath of fresh air and unlike obama or Clinton, he tells you what he is thinking and clear as to what his words mean. With muddled minds from pot how can you tell the difference?
If Christie is soooo concerned about American's health, he should start by setting a good example and losing weight, considering being overweight is just about the number one health problem in America, don't you think? LOL
He doesn't care what the people think. He thinks he knows how people should live their lives and the government should tell people what they can eat, drink and smoke. Let's hope this idiot never makes it out of NJ.

As if anyone needed another reason to dislike New Jersey, the state’s governor, Chris Christie, a likely Republican presidential candidate, just said if he were president he’d crack down on legalized marijuana. On the Hugh Hewitt Show, Christie was asked if he’d enforce the drug laws in Colorado and Washington, which Hewitt said were “flaunting federal law by allowing people to sell dope legally.” Christie said he’d “crack down and not permit it.” Hewitt was ready to move on but Christie had more to say:
CC: Marijuana is a gateway drug. We have an enormous addiction problem in this country. And we need to send very clear leadership from the White House on down through the federal law enforcement. Marijuana is an illegal drug under federal law. And the states should not be permitted to sell it and profit from it.

Christie recognizes this and he is definitely trying and losing weight.
Now, do you commend him for having an working towards a goal to get to a healthy weight?
It has been over two years since his surgery, he is lagging well behind the norm. Obviously, he has not embraced a healthy lifestyle post surgery. Walk the talk.
One Year After Surgery. Between 12 to 18 months after surgery, you will have lost a great deal of weight, says Madan. With gastric bypass surgery , you likely are close to your goal. If you had gastric banding surgery, you should have lost over 100 pounds. If weight loss has lagged, it's important to find the cause -- like eating too many snack foods.
Personally, I believe the only reason he decided to lose weight was because of how it would effect a run for the presidency. If it was for health reasons, he would have done something about his weight years ago.

Again, not a good role model.

….a top bariatric-surgery expert estimates that the Republican governor actually has shed between 90 pounds and 100 pounds...
In the world of the super-obese, that’s success, says Dr. Ninh T. Nguyen, president of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
“We’re trying to get somebody into a healthy lifestyle and reduce their obesity-related conditions …..We’re not trying to make somebody skinny here.”

…..most people are not like TODAY’s Al Roker, who famously lost more than 100 pounds a decade ago after gastric bypass surgery, slimming down to 190 pounds from a high of 340. Some can never get that low, experts say, and even Roker admitted in his recent book that he struggled after the surgery, regaining 40 pounds during a family medical crisis.

“From the images I saw, I would say, yes, I would regard it as successful,” Nguyen said.
That view was echoed by Dr. Thomas Inge, a bariatric expert…..
“With everything the man is dealing with, it is a wonder he has done so well,” Inge told NBC News.
Well, I am overweight also, but no-one is thinking or running me for president !
