Oddly enough a lot of the posts saying this is irrelevant are in fact coming from the left here.

I'm certainly not a fan of Rand Paul, so I feel free to state that what children, relatives or friends do is of no importance when evaluating the qualifications of a candidate for elective office, or anything else for that matter. By the same token, children, relatives and friends do not deserve the kind of public scrutiny that we unleash on office seekers simply because they are their children, friends or relatives.

Frankly this is just another reason why the best and brightest don't give a second of thought to running for public office.

Eh. Whatever.

There are screw ups in every family tree.

Ted Kennedy. Billy Carter. Roger Clinton.

I'm so sick of the rabid left or right dragging family members through the public eye and exposing every dumb a$s thing they ever did.

its a good thing he wasn't smoking that evil marijuana, otherwise they would have had to throw the book at him

It only matters if the parent is a Republican. If they are a Dem, you're a meanie for even commenting about their offspring and their actions.

2-3 of the others are left wing. Given the relative population of the board thats a lot.

Bitter partisan jerks have gone after politicians kids for decades and decades.

How you just attempted to justify yourself because a handful of others have been complete tools in the past is a pretty good ironic laugh.

I'm curious at your thought process though. You've noticed people being distasteful jerks that are ignored or denounced by the vast majority and somehow you thought it would be a good idea to duplicate their actions?
