Light industrial jobs that have moved overseas weren't paying minimum wage.
Wasn't the point. Merely showing the impact of a wage differential WHATEVER the reason.
If you have a state minimum wage of $12 and the next state over has $8.....you'll eventually see migration of certain work.
Just like if you have adjacent states with big differences in gas taxes and surprise surprise, there aren't many gas stations on the expensive side of the state line.

Well seeing that we have that now with states that go by federal minimum wage, why aren't businesses that hire minimum wage workers in Seattle not migrating to a state like Mississippi. With their low minimum wage, that state should be booming with employment.

Why would they need to leave the state when they can just move to another city in Washington with a lower min wage ?
One company relocated to Reno, NV. They want to keep their manufacturing in the US.
Washington still has the highest minimum wage, also you second link was from a company complaining that their competition pays their workers $2/hr. People in Seattle don't need employers wanting to pay their staff that little.
The digital age has done morw damage to bookstores and comic books than the minimum wage does. Also, I believe Borderlands isn't closing now.
The public sector reduces poverty and creates prosperity far more than any government program ever could, but you're the biggest cheerleader for government regardless.
I mean if you arent going to address the OP, then I wont either when I respond to you.
Then you are choosing to ignore simple business knowledge. If demand goes down and cost of business goes up, the business fails. But a business can also fail if demand drops too much to support itself. But you keep thinking if only American could be paid pennies on the dollar that these poor businesses would be able to stay in business.
Here is an idea for you, if you want a business to survive, spend more money at that business.
No, its YOU who chooses to ignore simple business knowledge that you cant artificially inflate the cost of labor without a DEMAND for that increase..

That 2nd link is the same company as the first link.
They were referring to the cheap crap made in China. They don't want to offshore.
They want to stay in the US. And they've been in Seattle since 1972.
But the added cost of millions in labor was enough to drive them to another state.
Yeah yeah...the proverbial.."If they can't absorb the higher cost of labor they don't deserve to be in business".
Well they are not closing up shop. They are just moving to where they can stay competitive.

Then people wont work for companies that pay their staff that little.

It seems the "elite" in Seattle don't want companies that have been there since 1972.
Seattle will be left with high priced yuppie/dink/hipster service places.
