Ah, look at all the people who want to bring slavery back to the US. Thought we had gotten past that sort of thing. But of course all the right wing folks are salivating for slavery, GO USA!

Not quite. I'm actually a native Philadelphian. A very blue city in traditionally a blue state. But most of my adult work life has been in red states.

Nonetheless, it was easier to judge other people more harshly when my life was much more separate from theirs. Confronting the real people and the real issues of poverty can really force a person to look at whatever ideology they choose to identify with.

So true. Not everyone becomes a conservative as they age. I was a conservative in teens and early 20s and liberal since I've lived and learned.
