I have a question: were [black] Africans allowed to immigrate from Africa to the USA (or anywhere else in the New World for that matter) during the era of slavery? Also, why is it that so many Jamaicans and other Afro-Caribbean people immigrate to the UK, even though the USA is so much closer, and cheaper to live in? Are they worried about racism? I'm not saying there aren't racists in the UK, but remember Jamaica and many of its neighbors are still ruled by the British queen (but each Caribbean nation has its own prime minister).

Anyway, I don't hate America, I just hate when people kill to steal others' land, and I hate when people have completely unrealistic fantasies about past history. Also, I fail to see how the USA has any more "freedom" (or ever did, except during the Nazi period) than any other DEVELOPED country (such as Canada, most of Western Europe and Northern Europe, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand).

Or if I were there when the first slave ship came, I would lead a band of my fellow men to raid the ship, kill all the whites on board, and welcome the slaves to my land. And I would burn the ship down.

As for the hype about "Western civilization" and its unique greatness, the idea that only white Europeans were smart enough to create it is horsesh!t. Japan is what I consider to be the greatest nation on Earth, and its very smart people have the same DNA as Native Americans. What the Japanese did to Americans (and Chinese for that matter) a generation ago is regrettable but was motivated by very deep spiritual convictions that I think overall were a force for justice, not evil. Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea owe a lot of their good fortune to Japan, who has defended all three from Chinese aggression throughout the centuries (but I will admit many Korean women were raped by Japanese forces), though unfortunately China once again owns the once-British colony Hong Kong. Civil unrest lately has made me think either Japan or Russia will help Hong Kong fight China for independence eventually though.

Wow.

So basically you're a self-hating kid who has been fed a steady diet of tumblr social justice history revision, and you have a fetish for Asian (specifically Japanese) cultures and anime, correct? Bet you're into that Japanese anime tentacle porn crap too. But you feel guilty when you indulge because you don't want to "culturally appropriate"?

So. F-ing lame.

That's really the only way I can rationalize your white guilt and your need to apologize for Japanese imperialism and slaughter of millions, and conveniently forget that Europe itself has been colonized, enslaved and subjugated by all of the following in the past:

1) Africa
2) Asia
3) The Middle East

Grow up.

Sub-Saharan Africans really didn't migrate across continents prior to the colonial era.

Where migration occurred was in eastern Africa and Northern Africa. There, however, the Arabs and Islam first made its incursions into Sub-Saharan Africa before any Europeans cared to.

Indeed, the Arabs began the African slave trade, and enslaved far many more Africans over a period of more centuries than the most bigoted southern Plantation owner could ever dream of.

I guess the difference is they tended to castrate their male slaves instead of breeding them, so the visible legacy is less in the Arab world.

In the United States, African Americans did have two opportunities post-slavery:

1) Return to Africa;
2) Obtain land via the "Homestead Act" which was open to anyone who wanted it.

Who do you think was more prosperous? Those that returned to Africa, or those that went west and claimed their free land?

"I hate when people kill to steal others' land?" Did you miss WORLD HISTORY class or something?

BTW: Native Americans were sure as hell dealt a devastating blow. I sometimes wonder what this land would have looked like if it was "discovered" post-enlightenment and the modern era, when ideas about colonization and imperialism changed. They would undoubtedly still retain much land. Or have been folded into a different entity in a much more organic way.

But even so, in the USA, 95% of the Natives died from disease. Not from being killed by white people (or black people, for that matter, because things between blacks and natives weren't all peachy either). And no, there were no small pox blankets. That is a debunked urban legend.

I do not judge peoples of the past through contemporary lenses. Why would you hold "white people" in the USA to any different standard than what was happening elsewhere in the world at that time? Do you cry about the millions killed by the Mongolian Khans? From eastern Europe to China? Or nah, cause non-white people don't know any better?

The Natives were cut-off from the domesticated animal trade disease of the old world. But that happens. Kind of like when 1/3 of Europe died from plague brought to its shores by Middle Eastern boats.

LOL So you deny holocaust, and condemn Japan, you are a true piece of work.
I'm not a holocaust "denier", I'm a holocaust "revisionist". And revisionist really just means someone who wants to "correct the record".

The truth is, war-crimes are always committed by every side in every war. You don't think America is committing war-crimes right now all across the Middle-East? Our drone strikes have killed hundreds or thousands of children and civilians, and only claimed to have killed "insurgents", "terrorists", or "militants" by the people actually using them(who knows if they are telling the truth?).

If you've ever watched any war movie, even the Americans often shot their enemies, even when/after they had surrendered. At Bergen-Belsen, the British basically came in and shot all the guards at the camp. And America nuked two Japanese cities, intentionally killing hundreds of thousands of civilians. Let alone all the bombing of civilians in cities across Europe during WWII by Churchill and the allies. And who even wants to discuss all the war-crimes committed by Stalin?

Everyone who fought in WWII committed war-crimes. The only difference is that some countries committed more than others. And only one country, Germany, was singled out as the greatest evil in the entire war. But was Germany more evil than the Soviets? Was Germany more evil than the Japanese?

So then why is there a "holocaust" that people won't shut up about when it comes to Germany. But there is no such thing for what the Japanese did to the Chinese, Koreans, and other Asians?

The reason why the holocaust is talked about practically every day of my entire life, and will continue to be talked about into the distant future. Is because the holocaust is useful. And it is useful to a single group of people, who were actually a very tiny part of a massive war. But who have made WWII all about them. And have used it to get political, economic, and military support from Germany and other ex-Axis countries, as well as the United States, and the United States. Which has been invaluable in setting up and maintaining the state of Israel.

A state which has destabilized the Middle-East for decades. As I've heard before"Every time anyone says that Israel is our only friend in the Middle East, I can’t help but think that before Israel, we had no enemies in the Middle East.”

All nations and land on this earth at one time was owned by some civilization.
Before the who was here before the native americans, where did they come from? Was nobody here?

Native Americans fought with themselves over tribes long before white men showed up.
And took over terrorities.

If a time machine was invented it would have been an American who did it :-)

If Columbus didn't "discover" the New World, then someone else would have done so. In any event, that's water under the bridge.

[no point in jumping off it now]
